Life is moving fast! (Spring 2025 Update)
This winter has been exciting and busy. I've been blessed in many ways, so here’s a quick summary of October to April!
Ran a Marathon in Tulsa at the end of November! It was my fastest yet (3 hrs 44 mins) and was so fun despite the pain it caused my body!
Traveled to Seattle to the Christian Camp and Conference Association National Convention! It was a full week of connecting with people from all over the country that are passionate about camp ministry like I am!
One of my best friends, Kip Ammons, moved in with me for the semester! I was so glad to have someone to come home to and was much needed in this season of life.
We got lots of snow, and were snowed in for multiple days at one point!
Some of my college friends and I got together to watch March Madness Basketball Games in Wichita, KS for a weekend! It was so fun to catch up on life with them as well as make some fun memories!
I PROPOSED TO ALLISON YOUNG, AND SHE SAID YES!!!! This was such a crazy weekend, but somehow was able to successfully pull off a complete surprise, thanks to some major help from some of her really good friends! We will be getting married in August of this year!
The day after the proposal, Alli and I both ran a half marathon in Bentonville! This was Alli’s first race ever, so that was so fun to be part of!
April was full of weekends camping down near the Buffalo National River in Arkansas! First was with Alli for a hike on the Big Bluff Trail, Second was with our Community Group camping and hanging, and the third was Men’s retreat with our church Fellowship Bentonville!
Alli and I were blessed with the opportunity to be videographers for Kacey and Jack’s wedding, and that was such a fun little side quest!
On May 3, I ran a last-man-standing ultramarathon. That means that every 20 minutes I had to run one mile, and I didn’t stop until I couldn't complete a lap under 20 minutes. I ended up running 41 loops, which ended up actually being 45 total miles, and it took 13 hours and 40 minutes! It was 92,000 steps!!
Most recently, Alli has moved out of her house in Rogers, AR, and now will be living at New Life Ranch Frontier Cove, and she will be serving as the interim Junior Camp Manager for this summer! (More of this explained later in this post!)
Learning actively and leaning in to the Lord daily have been themes of that the Lord has been putting on my heart recently!
Recently the Lord has only brought more and more confirmation that this season of life is exactly where the Lord has me for so many reasons. As you saw from the list of things that have happened in the last few months, I am having lots of fun in and out off camp. It has been so evident to me that life is ministry, and I could not be more thankful for the opportunities that this stage of life is brings!
Throughout the non-camp months of the year, I am spending so much time thinking about camp and planning the details of the summer. That comes with its challenges because in order to know if something works, you have to try it out, and we only get to try things for 8 weeks out of each year! I am so excited because this summer we are starting to try some new rhythms and ideas at Senior Camp!
Keeping this short and sweet, but God has been so good in this season and this passage has been on my heart for this summer!
Colossians 3:12-17 “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Prayer Requests:
Things around the ranch are changing and construction projects are all over the place, and so prayers for no complications and quick work!
Pray for campers to feel the outpouring of Jesus from each staffer this summer! We are inviting people into life with Jesus and we are praying for open hearts constantly!
Alli and I are getting married in August, and we each only have 1 day off each week til the end of July… (enough said there)
We have the largest amount of guys on summer staff at the valley ever! HUG PRAISE!!!
with Love
